**Definitions:**

**Natural numbers:**1, 2, 3, etc., are the numbers you might count with and do not include 0.**Whole numbers:**The numbers {0, 1, 2, 3, ...} etc. There is no fractional or decimal part.**Integers:**Negative numbers; -2, -1,**Rational numbers****:**All fractions where the decimal expansion terminates after a finite number of digits, or repeats the same finite number of digits over and over forever.**Irrational numbers:**Those that cannot be written as a fraction.**Non-real numbers**: Any negative number with an even root. These numbers are called non-real because they do not have real roots.
